Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US actor Finn, who appeared in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
