Netflix Casts Ideal Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t take place until the third season, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

The platform declared recently that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the original manga and cartoon version.

This performer joins multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to reality, such as head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, a talented actress as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though this character is a important part of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this marks a notable change in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
