Iran Claims Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
